Parts Catalogue and Inventory Data Cleanse
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The TMS Data Cleanse capability provides an automated where possible, mandraulic where necessary means of extracting parts information from a number of data sources and checking them against the NATO Codification Support Information System (CSIS) to ensure accuracy and consistency. Anomaly reports identify errors to be addressed in the MOD Supply Chain, equipment Technical Documentation and OEM Support Information, which, once ratified culminates in a cohesive curated parts data set. Efficiency gains are made when consolidating families of equipment manufactured by a single OEM and the identification of common and unique items. Further benefits are achieved through the alignment and identification of preferred OEM Part Numbers/Design Drawings to a given NATO Stock Number. The TMS capability offers significant time and cost savings in achieving the aim of the task. Historical (anecdotal) evidence has shown that it took a team of staff over 4 months to manually check through an equipment parts catalogue comprising 2,000 line items. This task can now be achieved with a greater degree of accuracy and fidelity following data load and more importantly, can be delivered by TMS in minutes, rather than months. The functionality of the Data Cleanse service is by no means limited to the cleansing of data provided within parts catalogues or inventory lists, but extends to many tangential services to resolve a particular Delivery Team’s issues and improve interoperability of information sets such as, base inventory systems, OEM data, OEM design drawing alignment to NATO Stock Number and Manufacturers Part numbers etc. TO LEARN MORE:
