My first official Remembrance parade at Gainsborough branch of the Royal British Legion as a standard-bearer. I was taking over the reins from the current standard- bearer and the first outing of the new standard to celebrate 100 years of Gainsborough branch.

We started out with the traditional church parade and it was a fantastic moment to be marching in as the new standard. In the church we were joined by the air cadets and the army cadets standards and presenting it to the priest for laying upon the altar for the duration of the service. Once the service was complete, I was able to parade the standard out of the church and across to the Gainsborough war memorial for the act of remembrance. I stood to attention for the whole service in front of 100 plus people who turned out to pay their respects. I was honoured to be able to take on the role and pay my respects to those who did not return, we will remember them.
